Niesten is an impact crater on Mars , located in the Iapygia quadrangle at 28.3°S latitude and 302.3°W longitude. It measures 115 kilometers in diameter and was named after Belgian astronomer Louis Niesten . The name was approved by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature in 1973. [1]
